Rain Brings Relief To Delhi-NCR Heatwave

Rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds brought relief to Delhi-NCR after days of severe heatwave conditions. Several parts of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad received light to moderate rainfall, leading to a drop in temperatures across the region.

Delhi-NCR Rain Brings Heatwave Relief

Residents in Delhi-NCR saw a sudden change in weather after several days of extreme heat. Thunderstorms, dust storms and showers were reported across parts of the region, easing the impact of soaring temperatures.

The change came after Delhi and neighbouring areas recorded severe heatwave conditions earlier in the week, with temperatures crossing 45 degrees Celsius in several places.

IMD Forecasts More Rain And Thunderstorms

The India Meteorological Department said the weather shift was linked to western disturbances and moisture entering the region from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.

The IMD has forecast more light rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next few days. Cloudy weather is expected to keep maximum temperatures below the recent heatwave levels, although humid conditions may continue.

Waterlogging And Traffic Delays Reported

While the showers brought relief from the heat, some parts of Delhi-NCR also reported waterlogging and traffic congestion, especially during the evening rush hours.

The rainfall followed a period of intense summer heat that had triggered weather alerts across north India. Authorities have advised residents to remain alert during thunderstorms and avoid unnecessary exposure during peak heat hours.
