Priyanka Gandhi Highlights 35 Years of Campaign Experience at Wayanad Rally
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, addressing a large crowd in Kalpetta on Wednesday, highlighted her extensive political experience, emphasizing that she began campaigning at the age of 17 for her late father, Rajiv Gandhi.
Speaking ahead of the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll nominations, Priyanka shared her journey of over three decades, during which she has campaigned for her mother, Sonia Gandhi, her brother, Rahul Gandhi, and other Congress colleagues.
Her remarks came a day after BJP’s Wayanad bypoll candidate, Navya Haridas, stated that she had more experience in representing people than Priyanka. Responding indirectly, Priyanka reiterated her long history of political involvement, dating back to her first campaign in 1989.
Priyanka Gandhi’s Commitment to Wayanad
During her address, Priyanka expressed her honor in being chosen to represent Wayanad and praised the resilience of its people, particularly during the landslides that affected the district. Surrounded by senior Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka assured voters of her dedication to the region.
A Key Battle in Wayanad
Priyanka Gandhi will contest against LDF’s Sathyan Mokeri and BJP’s Navya Haridas in the Wayanad by-election, scheduled for November 13. The bypoll was necessitated after Rahul Gandhi, who won the seat in the 2019 general elections, vacated it in favor of retaining Rae Bareli.
