Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk Warns Of Critical Months Ahead
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned that the coming months could be critical as Poland prepares for possible Russian provocations amid rising security concerns on NATO’s eastern flank.
Polish PM Warns Of Russian Threat
Donald Tusk said Poland is preparing for various scenarios after reports suggested that Russia may be planning a limited provocation against Poland or the Baltic states.
Speaking to reporters, Tusk said he did not want to create panic but warned that the coming months could be critical because of the changing nature of the war. He said the concerns were being felt strongly in the Baltic region.
Poland Prepares For Various Scenarios
The warning follows reports that Moscow could attempt a military or hybrid provocation to test NATO’s unity and pressure Western allies over their support for Ukraine.
Possible scenarios mentioned in regional reports include cyberattacks, drone or missile incidents, sabotage against infrastructure or limited border provocations. Poland has said it is aware of the threat through information shared by its allies and is preparing accordingly.
NATO Eastern Flank On Alert
Poland shares borders with Belarus, Ukraine and Russia’s Kaliningrad exclave, making it one of NATO’s most exposed eastern members. The Baltic states have also raised concerns over possible Russian hybrid warfare or military pressure.
Tusk said Poland should not be afraid but must not ignore the risk. The warning comes as NATO members continue discussions on defence readiness, military spending and long-term support for Ukraine.
The remarks underline growing concern in Europe that Russia may expand pressure beyond Ukraine through limited actions designed to test NATO’s response without triggering a full-scale confrontation.
