PM Modi Holds Talks In Slovakia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Bratislava during his historic visit to Slovakia, the first by an Indian Prime Minister to the Central European nation. The two sides elevated India-Slovakia ties to a Comprehensive Partnership and discussed new areas of cooperation.

PM Modi met Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico at Bratislava Castle as part of his official visit. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across trade, investment, technology, innovation and people-to-people ties.

The visit is being seen as a major diplomatic milestone, as no Indian Prime Minister had previously visited Slovakia since the country became independent in 1993.

India-Slovakia Ties Elevated To Comprehensive Partnership

Following the talks, India and Slovakia announced the elevation of their bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Partnership. The move is expected to provide a stronger framework for cooperation between the two countries.

PM Modi said the potential of India-Slovakia relations was vast and that both countries shared trust, priorities and common goals. Slovak leaders also underlined India’s growing global role and expressed interest in deepening engagement with New Delhi.

PM Modi Meets Slovak President Pellegrini

During the visit, PM Modi also met Slovak President Peter Pellegrini. The leaders discussed ways to build on the momentum in India-Slovakia relations and explore new opportunities for cooperation.

The Slovakia visit formed part of PM Modi’s wider European diplomatic outreach, which also included France and the G7 Summit. The engagement is expected to strengthen India’s ties with Central Europe and open fresh avenues for economic and strategic collaboration.
