PM Modi Hails India-Japan Growth Ties
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India’s speed and scale, combined with Japan’s technology, expertise and investment, can support wider global growth. He made the remarks while addressing the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum in New Delhi.
India Japan Economic Partnership
PM Modi said India-Japan relations remain a strong example of successful economic cooperation. He said both countries have decided to make the partnership more dynamic and deeper across key sectors.
The Prime Minister said Japan’s expertise and investment, when combined with India’s rapid growth and market scale, can benefit not just the two countries but the global economy. He also highlighted India’s position as one of the fastest-growing major economies.
India Japan Agreements In AI Defence
India and Japan reached agreements in several areas, including economic security, artificial intelligence, defence and health. PM Modi said these areas would help make the partnership more future-ready.
He also referred to global economic challenges such as supply chain disruptions, trade uncertainty and weakening demand. Against this backdrop, he said India has continued to push reforms in taxation, governance and ease of doing business.
Maruti Suzuki Kharkhoda Facility
On the occasion, PM Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi jointly inaugurated Maruti Suzuki’s fourth vehicle manufacturing facility at Kharkhoda in Haryana.
PM Modi said Japanese companies have played an important role in India’s industrial growth. He also said India remains a promising destination for Japanese businesses, supported by reforms, incentives and opportunities across manufacturing, technology and infrastructure.
Japan’s Prime Minister also highlighted energy security as a major area of cooperation, stressing the importance of transparent energy trade, strategic stockpiles and closer cooperation between producer and consumer countries.
