PM Modi Concludes Five-Nation Tour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for India after concluding his five-nation diplomatic tour covering the UAE, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy, with trade, investment, energy security and strategic cooperation forming the core agenda.

The visit began in the United Arab Emirates and continued through the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway before ending in Italy. Across the tour, PM Modi held talks with national leaders, business representatives and strategic partners to strengthen India’s engagement with key countries in the Gulf and Europe.

The tour came at a time of global uncertainty, with West Asia tensions, energy security, supply chain concerns and trade diversification high on India’s diplomatic agenda.

India Italy Special Strategic Partnership

Italy was the final stop of the visit, where PM Modi met Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome. Both sides agreed to elevate India-Italy ties to a Special Strategic Partnership, marking a major step in bilateral relations.

The two leaders discussed cooperation in defence, trade, technology, innovation, manufacturing, logistics and maritime security. India and Italy also agreed to strengthen defence industrial cooperation, including co-development and co-production opportunities.

India Europe Trade And Investment Push

The five-nation tour also focused on expanding India’s economic engagement with Europe. In the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway, talks centred on green technology, clean energy, innovation, maritime cooperation, investment and resilient supply chains.

PM Modi also participated in the India-Nordic Summit in Oslo, where India and Nordic countries discussed cooperation in renewable energy, sustainability, digital technology, Arctic research and economic partnerships.

The tour underlined India’s effort to deepen ties with trusted partners while balancing energy security, trade expansion and geopolitical stability.
