Pakistani Drones Spotted Over Jammu, Samba, Pathankot
Tensions along the India-Pakistan border escalated further as multiple Pakistani drones were sighted over sensitive sectors including Jammu, Samba, and Pathankot, defence sources confirmed. The sightings occurred just a day after Pakistan launched airstrikes at several locations across Jammu and Punjab, marking a sharp uptick in cross-border hostilities.
According to defence officials, Indian armed forces were on high alert and responded with swift countermeasures. All incoming drones and missiles were successfully intercepted by India’s integrated air defence systems, preventing any damage or civilian casualties.
Drone Intrusions Escalate Conflict
The fresh wave of aerial threats is being viewed as part of a broader Pakistani strategy to provoke and destabilise key border zones. Jammu, Samba, and Pathankot are not only strategic military regions but also house critical infrastructure, making them high-value targets. The Indian Army and Air Force have significantly stepped up aerial surveillance and deployed additional radar and anti-drone units across the sector.
These drone incursions follow a pattern of increased asymmetric warfare tactics employed by Pakistan, especially after India launched Operation Sindoor—a retaliatory campaign targeting terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistani territory and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
India’s Defences Hold Strong
Thanks to India’s multi-layered air defence network, which includes systems like the S-400 ‘Sudarshan Chakra,’ Akash missiles, and laser-guided interceptors, all hostile aerial objects were neutralised without incident. Defence officials reaffirmed that the armed forces remain in full control of the situation and are prepared to respond to any further provocations.
The presence of Pakistani drones near forward military bases like Pathankot—historically targeted in past terror attacks—has heightened concerns about future threats. Security has been tightened in border districts, and civilian movement in vulnerable zones is being closely monitored.
