Noida Violence Probe Widens As 350 Arrested
Police in Noida have arrested around 350 people after labour protests turned violent across several industrial areas, with the Uttar Pradesh government describing the unrest as a possible planned conspiracy. The violence followed worker demonstrations over wages and labour conditions, but officials are also examining whether outside elements helped escalate the situation.
Noida Labour Protest Turns Violent
The unrest spread across multiple parts of Gautam Buddh Nagar, including Phase 2, Sector 60, Sector 62 and Sector 84. Incidents of arson, vandalism and stone-pelting were reported, with vehicles damaged and roads disrupted. Heavy police deployment and crowd-control measures were used to bring the situation under control.
Police Arrest 350 In Noida Violence Case
Authorities said around 350 people have been arrested so far, while more than 100 others have been detained for questioning. Multiple cases have been registered across police station areas in the commissionerate. Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage from factories and protest sites to identify more people allegedly involved in violence and property damage.
Conspiracy Angle In Noida Unrest Probe
Uttar Pradesh Labour Minister Anil Rajbhar said the violence appeared to be part of a well-planned conspiracy aimed at disturbing law and order and creating instability. He also referred to a possible Pakistan link as part of the broader probe, though this angle remains under investigation and has not been independently established in public evidence so far.
Worker Demands And Government Response
The protests were linked to demands for higher wages, better labour conditions and parity with revised wage levels in neighbouring Haryana. Police said four out of five worker demands have already been accepted, and a high-level committee has been formed to address the remaining issues. Officials have appealed for calm and said the administration is engaging with workers through dialogue.
