Nine Killed in Russia-Ukraine Strikes

Nine people were killed as Russia and Ukraine exchanged drone and missile attacks across several regions. Four deaths were reported in Ukraine, while Ukrainian strikes killed five people in Russian-occupied territory and Russia’s Samara region.

Russian Strikes Kill Four in Ukraine

Russian forces launched overnight drone and missile attacks targeting several parts of Ukraine. Three people were killed in the central Dnipropetrovsk region, including two victims at an industrial facility in Kryvyi Rih.

Regional authorities said the attack damaged the facility and nearby infrastructure. Additional drone strikes later caused a fire at the same industrial site, although no further casualties were reported.

In southern Ukraine, a separate drone attack on Kherson killed a 48-year-old resident. Local authorities did not immediately release full details about the extent of damage caused by the strike.

Ukrainian Strikes Hit Occupied Regions

Ukrainian attacks on the Russian-occupied section of the Zaporizhzhia region reportedly killed four people. The casualty figures were announced by authorities controlling the occupied territory.

A separate long-range Ukrainian drone attack struck Russia’s Samara region, killing one person. The two incidents brought the reported death toll from Ukrainian attacks to five.

Air Defence Pressure Grows

The latest exchange came amid an intensifying campaign of long-range drone and ballistic missile attacks by both countries.

Ukraine’s air defence network has faced growing pressure from repeated Russian strikes. Kyiv continues to seek additional Patriot air defence systems and other military support from its international partners.

The attacks occurred ahead of planned discussions involving Ukraine’s allies, with talks expected to focus on military assistance, air defence support and further pressure on Russia.
