Nationwide Protests Target Trump and Musk on Presidents Day
On Presidents Day, thousands of demonstrators across the United States rallied against President Donald Trump and his advisor, Elon Musk, expressing concerns over perceived authoritarian actions and policy decisions. The protests, organized by the 50501 Movement, spanned major cities and state capitals, uniting participants under the banner “No Kings on Presidents Day.”

In Boston, approximately 1,000 protesters braved snowy conditions to march from the Statehouse to City Hall. Chanting slogans and carrying signs that read “This is a coup” and “Cowards bow to Trump, patriots stand up,” participants voiced their dissent against the administration’s recent actions. Some attendees donned Revolutionary War-era attire, symbolizing their stance against perceived tyranny.
In Washington, D.C., hundreds gathered near the White House, with signs proclaiming, “Deport Musk, dethrone Trump.” The demonstrators criticized Musk’s role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency, expressing concerns over his influence on federal policies and spending.
Concerns Over Federal Policies
Protesters expressed alarm over the administration’s efforts to reduce the federal workforce and restructure government agencies. In Phoenix, Arizona, demonstrators attempted to enter the Statehouse to oppose legislation aimed at enhancing federal immigration enforcement. Security personnel prevented access, leading to chants of “No kings” and “Resist fascism” outside the building.
The 50501 Movement, responsible for organizing these events, has been vocal in its opposition to what it perceives as anti-democratic actions by the Trump administration and its allies. A previous nationwide protest on February 5 saw participation in dozens of cities, indicating a growing wave of civic activism.

In Florida and California, local media reported hundreds joining “Not My President’s Day” protests, reflecting widespread discontent.
