Multiple Aerial Threats Intercepted in Jaisalmer for Second Night

For the second consecutive night, multiple aerial threats from Pakistan were intercepted by Indian air defence systems over Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, late Friday. The incidents triggered a high-security red alert across border districts and led to enforced blackouts, as authorities worked to ensure civilian safety amid mounting regional tensions.

According to defence sources, the threats involved suspected drones that entered Indian airspace from across the international border. All hostile aerial objects were successfully neutralised mid-air before they could inflict any damage or reach critical infrastructure.

Pakistan Drones Target Rajasthan Border

This marks an alarming extension of Pakistan’s drone activity beyond Punjab and Jammu, with the western state of Rajasthan now also coming under aerial threat. Jaisalmer, located along the sensitive desert border, houses key military establishments and airbases, making it a strategic target.

Indian forces acted swiftly, deploying radar-guided anti-aircraft systems and jamming units to neutralise the drones. Blackouts were immediately enforced in vulnerable villages along the border to reduce visibility from the air, and civilian movement was restricted as part of precautionary protocols.

Red Alert and Precautionary Measures

The Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), and local administration have ramped up surveillance and are maintaining a high state of readiness. Villages across Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Bikaner districts have been asked to stay indoors and avoid spreading rumours. Emergency services have also been placed on standby.

These developments come amid the broader backdrop of Operation Sindoor, India’s ongoing military campaign targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following the Pahalgam massacre. In response, Pakistan has increased cross-border provocations through missile firings, drone surveillance, and infiltration attempts.

The successful interception of drones in Jaisalmer is another reminder of the expanding threat spectrum India faces and the need for heightened vigilance across all frontier states. With red alerts in force and the military on full operational footing, India continues to secure its skies while standing prepared for any escalation.
