Masoud Pezeshkian Says Enemies Failed to Break Iran
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said hostile powers tried to destabilise Iran and push the country towards a fate similar to Syria, but failed because of national unity. In a televised address, he said Iran had remained resilient despite war, sanctions and external political pressure.
Pezeshkian Says Iran Avoided Syria’s Fate
Pezeshkian said Iran’s enemies had attempted to weaken the Islamic Republic and undermine its political system.
He argued that external powers wanted to create instability similar to what Syria experienced during years of conflict and political upheaval. According to the Iranian president, unity among citizens prevented those efforts from succeeding.
Pezeshkian said national solidarity remained Iran’s strongest defence against foreign pressure.
Iran President Praises National Unity
The Iranian president credited the country’s leadership and public resilience for maintaining stability during the ongoing regional crisis.
He said Iran’s adversaries opposed the country’s independence and progress and accused them of using military action, sanctions and political pressure to weaken Tehran.
Pezeshkian also paid tribute to Iran’s former Supreme Leader and expressed confidence in the country’s new leadership.
Iran Faces War and Diplomatic Pressure
The remarks come amid continuing tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel following months of military confrontation across the region.
At the same time, diplomatic discussions are continuing over the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran and Oman working on arrangements aimed at increasing commercial shipping through the vital maritime route.
US President Donald Trump has said progress is being made towards an agreement with Iran, although Tehran has maintained that broader negotiations remain complicated.
