Mamata Says TMC Will Rebuild Party

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has told party leaders and candidates that the organisation will be rebuilt after its major setback in the West Bengal Assembly elections, while saying that those who wish to leave the party are free to do so.

Mamata Banerjee Message To TMC Leaders

Mamata Banerjee addressed TMC candidates at a meeting in Kalighat amid reports of internal discontent and possible defections after the party’s electoral defeat.

She told party workers not to lose confidence and said the organisation would rise again through ground-level rebuilding. Banerjee also said she would personally oversee efforts to revive party offices and strengthen the cadre network.

TMC Rebuild Plan After Bengal Poll Defeat

The TMC leadership has asked candidates and district leaders to submit detailed area-wise reports within a week. The party is expected to review booth-level performance, organisational weaknesses and complaints from workers.

Banerjee also instructed leaders to hold local meetings and reconnect with the grassroots. The move comes as the party faces pressure to address internal grievances after one of its worst electoral performances in recent years.

Internal Dissent And Defection Speculation

The meeting was held at a time when several leaders have reportedly expressed dissatisfaction over the party’s functioning. Banerjee’s remark that those who want to leave can go was seen as a direct message to leaders considering a shift.

The TMC has also formed fact-finding teams to examine alleged election malpractice in some districts. The party continues to claim that the public mandate was affected by irregularities, while also preparing for a wider organisational reset.
