Major Automakers Announce Price Hikes Effective April 2025

Starting April 2025, several major automobile manufacturers in India have announced price hikes across their vehicle lineups. The increases, ranging from 2% to 4%, are attributed to escalating input costs, higher commodity prices, and increased operational expenses.

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s leading car manufacturer, plans to raise prices by up to 4% across its entire model range. This adjustment aims to offset rising input and operational costs. The company’s portfolio includes models such as the Alto K-10 and the multi-purpose vehicle Invicto, with current prices ranging from ₹4.23 lakh to ₹29.22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Hyundai Motor India

Hyundai Motor India has announced a price increase of up to 3% across all models, effective April 2025. The decision comes in response to rising raw material and operational costs. Hyundai’s lineup features popular models like the Creta, Venue, and Grand i10 Nios.

Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra & Mahindra will implement a price hike of up to 3% on its SUVs and commercial vehicles starting April 2025. The company cites rising input costs and increased commodity prices as reasons for the adjustment. Mahindra’s offerings include models such as the Thar, XUV700, and Scorpio.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors has also announced a price increase across its passenger vehicle lineup, effective April 2025. While the exact percentage has not been specified, the hike is attributed to rising input costs. Tata’s portfolio includes models like the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari.

Other Manufacturers

Other automakers, including Kia India, Honda Cars India, Renault India, and BMW, have also declared price hikes effective April 2025. Kia plans to increase prices by up to 3%, while Renault’s hike will be up to 2%. BMW has announced a price increase of up to 3% across its models.

Impact on Consumers

These price hikes are expected to affect consumers planning to purchase vehicles from April 2025 onwards. Prospective buyers may consider advancing their purchase decisions to avoid the increased costs. Additionally, customers are advised to consult with dealerships for specific details regarding the price adjustments for their preferred models.
