Karnataka Muslims Protest Pahalgam Attack, Condemn Terrorism

Following the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, Muslims in Karnataka’s Tumkur district organized a protest after Friday prayers. The demonstration, held outside a mosque, aimed to express solidarity with the victims and to condemn the violence.

Protesters Denounce Terrorism and Call for Unity

The protesters emphasized that the attack was an attempt to incite communal unrest in the country. They called for the perpetrators to receive the strongest possible punishment and reaffirmed their commitment to peace and unity. One of the organizers stated, “All of us have gathered here today to condemn Tuesday’s attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. Unarmed people were attacked… this is an assault not just on them but on the entire country. It does not matter what religion a person is from, our religion does not allow the killing of anyone in this manner. We condemn it in unequivocal terms. We want to tell the family members of those who were killed that we share their grief.”

Nationwide Protests Reflect Solidarity

The Tumkur protest was part of a broader national response. In Madhya Pradesh, demonstrations occurred in Bhopal, Khargone, and Harda, where protesters chanted anti-Pakistan slogans and burned effigies of terrorism. Community leaders emphasized that terrorism has no place in Islam and urged the government to take decisive measures.

These protests underscore a collective national stance against terrorism and a commitment to communal harmony. Muslim organizations across the country have reiterated that such acts of violence are incompatible with Islamic teachings and have called for unity in the face of adversity.

The Tumkur protest serves as a reminder of the importance of community solidarity and the rejection of violence, regardless of its source. As the nation grapples with the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, these expressions of unity and condemnation play a crucial role in fostering peace and understanding.
