Karnataka Draft Roll Drops to 4.46 Crore Voters
Karnataka’s draft electoral rolls have fallen to about 4.46 crore electors after nearly 1.08 crore names were left out during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. Election authorities said the excluded entries were largely classified as absent, shifted, dead, duplicate or other cases, with voters still able to seek inclusion before the final rolls are published.
Karnataka Draft Voter Roll Has 4.46 Crore Electors
The draft electoral roll published across Karnataka’s 224 Assembly constituencies contains 4,46,35,975 general electors. Including 44,176 service voters, the total reaches around 4.46 crore.
Before the SIR exercise, Karnataka had approximately 5.54 crore registered voters. The revision was conducted through house-to-house verification by Booth Level Officers between June 30 and August 17.
The draft includes about 2.22 crore male voters, 2.25 crore female voters and 2,871 third-gender electors.
1.08 Crore Names Placed in ASDDO Category
Election officials identified 1,07,96,339 entries under the ASDDO classification, covering voters recorded as absent, shifted, dead, duplicate or falling under other specified categories.
These names have been left out of the draft roll but the process is not necessarily final. Eligible citizens can submit claims and supporting documents seeking restoration of their names before the final electoral roll is prepared.
43.8 Lakh Karnataka Voters Face Verification
Around 43.8 lakh voters will receive notices over discrepancies or incomplete mapping of their records. Of these, approximately 23.45 lakh involve cases where earlier electoral information could not be mapped, while another 20.35 lakh involve data anomalies.
Claims and objections will remain open until September 23, with the final Karnataka electoral roll scheduled for publication on October 27.
