Iran Warns US Over Final Deal Talks

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that Tehran will not begin negotiations on a final agreement with the United States if Washington continues issuing threats.

Iran Warns US Over Final Deal Talks

Araghchi said talks on a final agreement cannot proceed while the United States continues what Iran views as threatening language and hostile pressure. His remarks came after US President Donald Trump said there would either be a deal with Iran or Washington would “finish the job.”

The Iranian minister said any future negotiations must be based on respect and adherence to commitments already discussed between the two sides.

Araghchi Cites Tehran Washington MoU

Araghchi said Iran’s position had already been made clear in the memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington. He urged the United States to honour its signature and avoid actions that could undermine further diplomatic engagement.

The comments suggest that Iran wants implementation of earlier understandings before moving towards a final settlement. Tehran has repeatedly said that pressure tactics and military threats cannot be used alongside serious negotiations.

US Iran Diplomacy Faces Fresh Strain

The warning adds fresh uncertainty to efforts aimed at stabilising relations between the two countries after weeks of military tension and stalled indirect talks.

Washington has said its objective is to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, while Iran continues to deny seeking nuclear arms. The latest exchange shows that both sides remain far apart on the tone, sequencing and terms of any future agreement.

The dispute could delay renewed negotiations unless both sides return to a framework that allows diplomacy to continue without public escalation.
