Iran Supreme Leader’s Hebrew X Account Suspended After Critical Post on Israel
The Hebrew-language account of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the social media platform X was suspended after just two posts, according to reports from the Jerusalem Post.
The account had posted critical comments about Israel following recent airstrikes on Iranian military sites.
The final post before the suspension, made on Sunday, warned, “The Zionist regime made a mistake, and erred in its calculation regarding Iran. We will make it understand what power, ability, initiative and desire the Iranian nation has.” Another post from Saturday read, “In the name of Allah the merciful.” Both posts appeared shortly after Israeli strikes targeted Iran’s military infrastructure last week.
Khamenei’s Continued Criticism of Israel
Khamenei regularly uses strong language against Israel on his main X account, often posting in Hebrew. He remarked that while Israel tends to amplify the impacts of its airstrikes on Iran, it would be equally wrong for Iran to downplay them. “They’re making a miscalculation concerning Iran,” Khamenei said on Sunday, as reported by CNN.
The comments followed Israeli airstrikes on Saturday that targeted missile manufacturing facilities and military bases in Tehran and other provinces, killing two Iranian soldiers. Israel confirmed its air attack was in response to an October 1 missile attack by Iran. The Israeli mission was reportedly completed successfully with all warplanes returning safely.
