India’s Bangladesh Tour May Be Postponed Again
India’s scheduled white-ball tour of Bangladesh in September 2026 could be postponed again, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board confirming that discussions with the BCCI over the dates are continuing. No cancellation has been announced, but uncertainty remains less than two weeks before the proposed start of the series.
India Bangladesh Cricket Tour Faces Fresh Delay
India are scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is in Bangladesh, with the series currently expected to begin in early September.
BCB president Tamim Iqbal said both cricket boards remain in discussions and indicated that the dates could be shifted. He stopped short of confirming that the tour had been postponed.
The BCCI has yet to formally confirm India’s participation under the announced schedule.
BCCI Awaits Approval for Bangladesh Tour
India’s participation is also understood to require clearance from the Indian government before the team travels to Bangladesh.
Earlier updates indicated that the BCCI was consulting relevant authorities, including through diplomatic channels, before taking a final decision.
The uncertainty comes against the backdrop of sensitive India-Bangladesh relations, although neither cricket board has officially linked the potential scheduling change to a specific political or security concern.
India Tour Was Already Postponed Once
The six-match series was originally scheduled for August 2025 before being mutually deferred to September 2026.
Bangladesh subsequently announced plans to host the three ODIs and three T20Is in Dhaka and Chattogram.
Another postponement would force both boards to identify a new window in an already crowded international calendar. For now, the September series remains scheduled, but a final confirmation from the BCCI is awaited.
