India Suffer Record T20I Defeat At Trent Bridge
England handed India their heaviest defeat in men’s T20I cricket, winning the third match at Trent Bridge by 125 runs after India collapsed to 76 all out while chasing 202.
India Suffer Record T20I Defeat
India’s chase fell apart quickly after England posted 201 for 7 in the third T20I. The visitors were bowled out for just 76, marking their biggest defeat by runs in men’s T20 Internationals.
The result gave England a 2-0 lead in the five-match series and left India facing major questions over their batting approach. Only two Indian batters reached double figures as the top order failed to handle England’s pace and movement.
Josh Tongue And Jofra Archer Dominate
England’s pace attack led the win, with Josh Tongue taking 4 wickets for 28 runs and Jofra Archer striking early with a strong new-ball spell. Archer finished with 3 wickets for 29 runs and was named Player of the Match.
India lost wickets at regular intervals and never recovered from the early damage. Their aggressive batting approach backfired as England’s bowlers kept attacking the stumps and forced repeated errors.
Phil Salt Powers England To 201
Earlier, Phil Salt gave England the platform with a fluent 70 off 44 balls. Sam Curran added an unbeaten 41 off 24 deliveries to lift England past 200 after India had briefly pulled things back in the middle overs.
India captain Shreyas Iyer admitted the batting performance was poor and said the team needed to reassess quickly. The fourth T20I will now be crucial for India as they look to stay alive in the series.
