India Rejects China-Pakistan Remarks On J&K
India has strongly rejected references to Jammu and Kashmir in a joint statement issued by China and Pakistan, calling them unwarranted. New Delhi reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable parts of India.
India Rejects J&K References
The Ministry of External Affairs said India categorically rejects the references made to Jammu and Kashmir in the China-Pakistan joint statement. It said India’s position on the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh is consistent and well known.
India said no other country has the right to comment on these territories. The response came after Pakistan and China mentioned Jammu and Kashmir during a joint statement issued after high-level talks between the two countries.
India Opposes CPEC Projects
India also rejected references to projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. New Delhi said some CPEC projects pass through areas that are part of India’s sovereign territory but remain under Pakistan’s illegal occupation.
The government said it opposes any attempt by other countries to legitimise Pakistan’s illegal and forcible occupation of these territories. India has repeatedly raised objections to CPEC on the grounds of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
China-Pakistan Boundary Claim Rejected
India also objected to references involving so-called trans-boundary water resources cooperation between China and Pakistan. The government said the question does not arise because the two countries do not share a boundary.
New Delhi further stated that it has never recognised the 1963 boundary agreement between Pakistan and China. India’s response reinforces its long-standing position that third-party references to Jammu and Kashmir are unacceptable and that Pakistan-occupied territories remain part of India.
