Ex-Congress MLA Alleges Omar Abdullah’s Terror Links

In a startling development, former Congress MLA Lakshman Singh has accused Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of potential links with terrorist organizations. Singh’s allegations come in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.

Lakshman Singh Allegations

At a condolence meeting in Raghogarh, Singh stated, “Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah may be in cahoots with terrorists. In such a situation, the Congress should withdraw support from the National Conference government (in the Union Territory). I am going to write to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in this regard.” Singh, who has previously been associated with the BJP, emphasized that national security should take precedence over party affiliations.

Singh’s comments have intensified the political discourse surrounding the Pahalgam attack. While no concrete evidence has been presented to support these claims, the accusations have put the spotlight on the alliance between the Congress and the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir. The Congress leadership has yet to respond to Singh’s statements.

Congress Internal Rift

Further fueling the controversy, Singh criticized senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Robert Vadra for their remarks following the attack. He described their statements as naive and potentially harmful to national security. Singh remarked, “Robert Vadra’s statement that the terrorists attacked because they did not allow Muslims to offer namaz on the road is not only irresponsible but also a statement that poses a threat to the security of the country.” He added, “Rahul Gandhi and Robert Vadra are naive. The country is suffering the consequences of their immaturity.”

The Pahalgam attack has elicited widespread condemnation across the political spectrum. President Droupadi Murmu labeled it a “dastardly and inhuman act,” while Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed it “shocking and painful,” vowing that those responsible would be brought to justice. Omar Abdullah himself described the incident as “much larger than anything we’ve seen directed at civilians in recent years.”

As the nation grapples with the aftermath of the attack, Singh’s allegations have added a new dimension to the political narrative, raising questions about internal party dynamics and the broader implications for national security.
