Eight Arrested In Ram Temple Donation Row
Eight people named in an FIR over the alleged embezzlement of donations received at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya have been arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police. The arrests follow a formal complaint by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and a preliminary probe by a Special Investigation Team.

Senior officials said all eight accused named in the FIR were arrested late Thursday night and taken into police custody for questioning. The accused have been identified as Ramshankar Yadav alias Tinnu, Lavkush Mishra, Anukalp Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Manish Yadav, Ramashankar Mishra, Subhash Chandra Srivastava and Karunesh Pandey.
Police are expected to produce the accused before a magistrate as part of the legal process.
Ayodhya Donation Embezzlement Probe
The case relates to alleged irregularities in donations received at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The accused were reportedly linked to the process of handling or counting cash and valuables offered by devotees.
Investigators are examining records, cash-handling procedures and other evidence to determine the extent of the alleged misappropriation. Officials have said the probe is still ongoing and further action may follow based on evidence.
SIT Report And FIR Details
The FIR was lodged after the temple trust filed a complaint with Ayodhya Police. This followed a preliminary report submitted by the SIT to the Uttar Pradesh government.
The accused have been booked under charges including theft, criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal conspiracy under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The SIT is expected to continue its investigation and submit a detailed final report.
