The property is among the most prominent club premises in the capital and has been associated with Delhi’s social and sporting history for decades.
According to reports, the government has stated that once possession is taken, the land and structures will vest with the President of India through the Land and Development Office. The club is likely to question the urgency and basis of the eviction order.
Employees And Members Raise Concerns
The eviction order has also triggered uncertainty for hundreds of employees linked to the club. Staff members fear job losses if the club is forced to vacate the premises within the given deadline.
Members have also opposed sudden displacement from the historic venue and initiated legal steps to challenge the directive. The High Court’s response will now determine the next stage of the dispute.
