Jharkhand Cancels 44 Recruitment Exams

The Jharkhand government has released a list of 44 recruitment examinations cancelled over alleged irregularities, marking a major overhaul of the state’s recruitment process. The decision follows prolonged protests by students and government job aspirants demanding action over alleged malpractice in JPSC and JSSC examinations.

Jharkhand Cancels 44 Recruitment Exams

The cancelled examinations cover recruitment for a wide range of government posts, including drug inspectors, assistant professors, deputy collectors, dental doctors, assistant engineers, civil judges, additional public prosecutors and forest range officers.

Recruitment tests for government polytechnic lecturers, senior scientific officers, assistant conservators of forests and several other administrative and technical posts are also among those affected.

Multiple notifications have been issued detailing the examinations and recruitment processes that stand cancelled.

JSSC-CGL and TDPL Exams Scrapped

The action includes the controversial JSSC Combined Graduate Level examination, which had become one of the central issues in the recent student agitation.

The government has also cancelled examinations, results and selections linked to outsourced agency TSR Data Processing Private Limited following allegations concerning recruitment processes handled by the company.

Authorities have said the decisions were taken after reviewing alleged irregularities and information emerging from ongoing investigations.

Jharkhand Plans Recruitment System Reforms

The government has announced further measures aimed at strengthening the recruitment system and preventing future irregularities.

Internal monitoring mechanisms are expected to be established within the JPSC and JSSC, while a committee headed by senior IAS officer Amitabh Kaushal has been tasked with recommending examination reforms.

The government is also seeking faster legal proceedings in cases involving alleged recruitment malpractice.
