Congress Releases Fourth List of 12 Candidates for Maharashtra Polls
The Congress party has released its fourth list of 12 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, scheduled for November 20. This latest announcement comes after the party previously revealed three lists, bringing the total number of candidates named so far to 101.
Congress Fields New and Experienced Candidates
The Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Congress has strategically selected candidates from various constituencies across the state, balancing experienced leaders with fresh faces. Key candidates in the fourth list include Dr. Anil Nathu Shinde from Amalner, Sanjay Narayantao Meshram from Umred (SC), Ramdas Masram from Armori (ST), and Pravin Nanaji Padwekar from Chandrapur (SC).
Other nominees include Santoshsingh Chandansingh Rawat from Ballarpur, Pravin Suresh Kakade from Warora, Abdul Sattar Abdul Gafur from Nanded North, and Lahu H. Shewale from Aurangabad East. Notably, Ashok Jadhav has been fielded from Andheri East, and Ramesh Anandrao Bhagwe from Pune Cantonment (SC).
Previous Announcements and Other Developments
Congress released its third list on Saturday, featuring 16 candidates, including notable names like Prithviraj Patil from Sangli and Sachin Sawant from Andheri West. Additionally, the second list saw the retention of sitting MLA Kailash Gorantyal from Jalna and the nomination of Anuja Kedar from Saoner.
Meanwhile, the Eknath Shinde-led faction of Shiv Sena also unveiled its fourth list of candidates. The faction has positioned Milind Deora to challenge Aaditya Thackeray in Worli, while Sanjay Nirupam will contest from Dindoshi, creating a highly anticipated electoral contest.
