CJP volunteers led by Ranka and Das reached Jantar Mantar early in the morning despite security restrictions around the area.

Protest Follows Jantar Mantar Denotification

The demonstration came after the Centre removed Jantar Mantar from Delhi’s list of designated protest locations.

Three alternative sites have been identified for demonstrations: Ramlila Ground, Burari Ground and CBD Ground in east Delhi.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke criticised the decision and argued that removing Jantar Mantar as a protest venue would not stop demonstrations.

Delhi Protests Continue Over SIR and CEC Row

The latest confrontation follows several days of protests by CJP and INDIA bloc supporters against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Delhi Police have maintained tight security around central Delhi since October 10, when CJP leaders and protesters were detained during attempts to gather near Jantar Mantar.

The political dispute over voter-roll revisions has continued to intensify, with opposition groups demanding greater scrutiny of the process while the Election Commission maintains that the exercise is intended to improve the accuracy of electoral rolls.
