Amit Shah Tells Rahul Gandhi to ‘Get Ready’ for 2029 Loss
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a sharp attack on Rahul Gandhi, telling the Congress leader to “get ready to lose” the 2029 Lok Sabha elections and arguing that repeated electoral defeats should prompt introspection rather than attacks on the Election Commission.
Amit Shah Targets Rahul Gandhi Over Election Losses
Shah said Congress should examine the reasons behind its recent electoral setbacks instead of blaming institutions or procedural issues.
He cited the party’s defeats in recent byelections and local body contests, including the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation polls, as examples of a continuing pattern of poor performance.
Shah argued that Congress’s problems were rooted in its political strategy and leadership rather than the functioning of the Election Commission.
‘Get Ready to Lose 2029’, Shah Tells Rahul
The Home Minister directly warned Gandhi that unless Congress changes course, it should prepare for another defeat in the 2029 general elections.
His remarks came amid an escalating political confrontation over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and the functioning of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders have accused the Election Commission of irregularities and alleged that voter-roll changes could unfairly influence elections. The Commission has rejected allegations of political bias.
BJP Counters Congress ‘Vote Chori’ Campaign
The BJP has repeatedly framed the Opposition’s current protests as an attempt to explain away a series of election losses.
Rahul Gandhi, however, has maintained that the Opposition will continue its campaign against the Election Commission and has hinted at further political action without revealing details.
The latest exchange has intensified the confrontation between the BJP and Congress as both sides seek to shape the political narrative ahead of the next general election.
