Akhilesh Targets BJP Over Ram Temple Donation Row
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the BJP over the alleged Ram Temple donation embezzlement case, questioning the handling of the investigation and alleging that internal power struggles are affecting transparency in the probe.

Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the controversy has exposed a power struggle between the BJP’s central leadership in Delhi and the party’s leadership in Uttar Pradesh.
He questioned why the investigation was being handled by a Special Investigation Team instead of central agencies such as the CBI, ED or Income Tax Department. Yadav said the choice of probe agency raised questions over who controlled the investigation and whether it would be fully impartial.

The controversy relates to alleged irregularities in the counting and handling of donations made by devotees at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The issue gained political attention after opposition leaders raised questions over accountability and transparency in the management of temple offerings. The Uttar Pradesh government later constituted an SIT to investigate the allegations.
Police have already registered an FIR and arrested multiple people in connection with the case. Investigators are examining alleged diversion of funds, personal spending and possible links to others involved in handling donations.
Ram Mandir Trust Responds
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has said it sought an impartial investigation after receiving information about irregularities in the donation-counting process.
The Trust has also disclosed that it received ₹3,264 crore in donations and spent ₹2,370 crore on temple construction and religious activities. It said the investigation should establish responsibility and determine whether criminal proceedings are required.
