Centre Alleges CJP Funding From US, Pakistan
Union Minister Jitendra Singh has accused the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and its prominent members of receiving financial support from foreign organisations, including donors based in the United States and politicians in Pakistan. Speaking in Bengaluru on November 3, 2026, Singh claimed that the government possessed evidence linking the group to unauthorised funding networks. The CJP rejected the allegations on Thursday, November 5, and demanded accountability for the minister’s statements.
Jitendra Singh Accuses CJP Leaders of Foreign Funding
Singh alleged that CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke had received money from US-based donors, while party strategist Ashutosh Ranka had received payments from Pakistani politicians.
The minister claimed that foreign-funded organisations and networks hostile to India were supporting political campaigns and influencing public narratives.
However, financial records or other documentary evidence substantiating the specific allegations have not been made public.
CJP Rejects Allegations and Demands Evidence
The CJP strongly denied the accusations and questioned why a Union Minister could make serious claims without presenting supporting evidence.
Ranka challenged the government’s position, questioning why its representatives had previously engaged with the group if they believed it maintained foreign connections.
He also criticised attempts to attribute domestic problems, including unemployment, examination paper leaks and alleged electoral irregularities, to foreign interference.
Foreign Funding Row Follows Electoral Protests
The allegations emerged amid controversy surrounding CJP demonstrations against the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and criticism of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Delhi Police have also summoned CJP representatives in connection with alleged violations associated with the demonstrations.
Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge questioned the BJP’s accusations and called for evidence establishing foreign funding.
The dispute has renewed scrutiny of political funding allegations and the responsibility of public officials to substantiate serious accusations against political organisations.
