AIADMK Rules Out Support To TVK

The AIADMK has dismissed reports that some of its MLAs were in favour of supporting Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu government formation, saying the party will not back TVK under any circumstances.

AIADMK Rejects TVK Support Reports

AIADMK deputy general secretary K P Munusamy said reports about a possible post-poll alliance with TVK were completely false. He clarified that the party had taken no such decision and would not support Vijay’s party in forming the next government.

Munusamy made the statement after a meeting with AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami. He said the clarification was being issued on the instruction of the party leadership.

Tamil Nadu Government Formation Update

The statement comes as Tamil Nadu remains focused on government formation after TVK emerged as the single largest party in the Assembly election but fell short of the majority mark.

With Congress already extending support to TVK, Vijay’s party is trying to secure the numbers needed to form the government. The AIADMK’s refusal removes one possible route for wider post-poll support.

AIADMK Maintains Distance From Vijay

The AIADMK clarification also appears aimed at preventing speculation about internal differences among its MLAs. Munusamy denied reports that some legislators were open to backing TVK and said the party’s position was clear.

The development adds another layer to Tamil Nadu’s post-election political realignment. While Congress has moved closer to TVK, AIADMK has chosen to stay away, leaving the next phase of government formation dependent on confirmed support from other parties and independents.
