AIADMK Faces Rift Over Support To TVK
The AIADMK is facing fresh internal pressure after a section of its MLAs reportedly pushed for supporting Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in government formation after the Tamil Nadu Assembly election results.
AIADMK MLAs Hold Secret Meeting
A group of 28 AIADMK MLAs reportedly held a closed-door meeting in Chennai after returning from a resort in Puducherry, where they had been staying for the past three days.
The meeting has triggered speculation over a possible split in the party’s legislative wing, with several MLAs said to be in favour of backing TVK to ensure a stable government in Tamil Nadu.
EPS Under Pressure Over TVK Support
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami is reportedly facing pressure from within the party over the next political move. While one section wants the party to support Vijay’s TVK, Palaniswami is believed to be cautious about any formal arrangement.
The development comes at a time when TVK has been trying to secure enough support to form the next government. Smaller parties and post-poll allies have become crucial in the number game.
Tamil Nadu Government Formation Talks Intensify
Vijay’s TVK has emerged as a major force in the 2026 Tamil Nadu election, disrupting the state’s traditional Dravidian political balance. The post-result negotiations have now placed AIADMK at the centre of political speculation.
The reported meeting of AIADMK MLAs has added another layer of uncertainty to Tamil Nadu’s government formation process. Any decision by the AIADMK legislature party could significantly influence the final political alignment in the state.
