Suryakumar’s availability had come under slight uncertainty after his wife recently gave birth to a baby girl. However, the India T20I captain has informed the Mumbai Indians team management that he will be available for the match and is expected to join the squad in Raipur.
He had led Mumbai Indians in their previous match on May 4, when regular captain Hardik Pandya missed the game due to back spasms.
Hardik Pandya Fitness Update Ahead Of RCB Match
Hardik Pandya’s participation in the RCB clash remains dependent on his fitness assessment. The Mumbai Indians captain underwent a fitness test on Friday and is expected to be reviewed again before the match.
Pandya did not initially train with the side in Raipur, but his condition is being monitored by Mumbai Indians’ medical team. A final decision on whether he plays and resumes captaincy is expected closer to the match.

Mumbai Indians are currently placed ninth on the IPL 2026 points table with three wins from 10 matches. Their playoff hopes remain slim but not over, as they can still reach 14 points by winning their remaining four league matches.
After the RCB match in Raipur, MI will face Punjab Kings in Dharamsala on May 14, Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on May 20 and Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium on May 24.
