VB-G RAM-G Workers To Get ₹300 Minimum Wage

Workers under the new Viksit Bharat — Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) will receive a minimum notified wage of ₹300 per day, with the Centre notifying revised wage rates after the scheme came into effect from July 1.

VB-G RAM-G Wage Rates Notified

The Centre has fixed ₹300 per day as the interim base wage under the new rural employment guarantee framework. This means no notified wage rate under the programme will fall below ₹300 per day.

The move is aimed at raising rural wages and reducing wage differences across states and Union Territories. Several regions that earlier had lower notified rates have now been brought up to the new national base wage.

Rural Employment Wage Floor Raised

The national average notified wage has increased from ₹298.8 per day under MGNREGA to ₹327.4 per day under VB-G RAM-G. This marks an average rise of ₹28.6 per day and an increase of more than 10%.

Wage rates have been revised across all notified states, Union Territories and wage regions. The Centre said the revised structure will support rural livelihood security and strengthen income support for workers dependent on public employment programmes.

VB-G RAM-G Replaces MGNREGA Framework

The Viksit Bharat rural employment scheme has replaced the earlier MGNREGA framework and is designed to provide guaranteed work to eligible rural households. The new system also places emphasis on asset creation, wage transparency and better monitoring of expenditure.

The revised wage notification is expected to benefit workers in lower-wage states the most, while states with already higher rates will continue to have notified wages above the ₹300 base level.
