UP MSME Sector Drives Export Growth
The state’s MSME sector has emerged as a major contributor to employment, innovation and exports. Uttar Pradesh has around 9.6 million MSME units, providing employment to nearly 1.65 crore people.
The state exports a wide range of products, including machinery, garments, leather, carpets and precious stones. These sectors have helped strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s presence in international markets and created opportunities for small manufacturers and traditional enterprises.
ODOP Scheme Boosts Global Market Access
The One District One Product scheme has played a key role in connecting local products and traditional skills with global buyers. Under the scheme, more than 20,000 beneficiaries have received margin money assistance of around ₹897 crore, helping generate about 3.16 lakh employment opportunities.
The state is also supporting artisans through training and modern toolkits, while MSME parks are being developed in multiple districts to improve industrial infrastructure. These measures are aimed at strengthening exports, self-employment and manufacturing-led growth.
