UAE Says Its Bases Will Not Be Used For Iran Attacks
The United Arab Emirates has said its territory and military bases will not be used for attacks against Iran, as Gulf countries try to avoid being pulled deeper into the widening conflict in West Asia. The statement came from a senior Emirati diplomat, who also repeated the UAE’s call for de-escalation and renewed diplomacy.
UAE Rejects Use Of Bases For Iran Strikes
Jamal Al Musharakh, the UAE’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations and other international organisations in Geneva, said Emirati bases are not being used to launch operations against Iran. His remarks were aimed at distancing the UAE from direct military involvement in the conflict and clarifying its position amid rising regional tensions.
UAE Calls For De Escalation In West Asia
The UAE also stressed that it does not want a wider war in the region. Al Musharakh said de-escalation remains the country’s consistent position and that diplomacy is the only sustainable way to prevent further instability. His comments reflected growing concern among Gulf states over the impact of the conflict on regional security, energy markets and commercial routes.
Gulf Tensions Put UAE Under Pressure
The statement comes at a time when Gulf nations are facing increasing pressure from the spillover effects of the Iran conflict. The UAE has been trying to balance regional security concerns with a cautious diplomatic approach, especially as fears grow over possible attacks on critical infrastructure and economic disruption across the region. By publicly ruling out the use of its territory for strikes, the UAE is signalling that it does not want to become an operational base in the conflict.
The remarks underline Abu Dhabi’s effort to maintain strategic neutrality while calling for restraint from all sides. As the war continues, Gulf states are expected to keep pushing for measures that reduce the risk of a broader regional escalation.
