Trump Says Netanyahu Delayed Iran Deal

US President Donald Trump has said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu nearly disrupted the emerging US-Iran peace framework after Israeli strikes in Beirut created fresh complications during the final stage of negotiations. Trump described Netanyahu as “very difficult” while saying the agreement with Iran remained on track.

Trump Netanyahu Tensions Over Iran Deal

Trump said Israel’s military action in Lebanon came at a sensitive moment when Washington and Tehran were moving closer to a peace framework. The Israeli strikes in Beirut added pressure to the talks and raised concerns that the agreement could be delayed or weakened.

The US President said Israel should be thankful for American efforts to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. His remarks pointed to growing differences between Washington and Tel Aviv over how to handle Iran, Lebanon and regional security.

US Iran Peace Framework Under Pressure

The US-Iran framework is expected to include an extended ceasefire and further negotiations on Iran’s nuclear programme. However, several major issues remain unresolved, including uranium enrichment, sanctions relief and the future of Iran’s nuclear stockpile.

The agreement comes after months of conflict that affected regional stability and global energy markets. The Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for oil and gas shipments, is also expected to be part of the implementation process.

Israel Lebanon Strikes Add Uncertainty

Israel was not directly involved in the US-Iran negotiations and has continued to raise concerns over any agreement that does not fully address Iran’s nuclear activity and regional influence. The Beirut strikes have added uncertainty to the diplomatic process.

Despite the tensions, Trump said the deal remained alive, while warning that military action could resume if Iran fails to reach a nuclear understanding during the next phase of talks.
