Noida Airport Begins Flights From Jewar

Commercial flight operations began at Noida International Airport in Jewar on Monday, with IndiGo flight 6E-2278 from Lucknow becoming the first scheduled service to land at the newly developed airport. The launch marks a major step in expanding air connectivity for Noida, Greater Noida and western Uttar Pradesh.

Noida Airport Commercial Operations Begin

IndiGo flight 6E-2278 departed from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow and landed at Noida International Airport in Jewar in the morning. The return service, flight 6E-2279, is scheduled to connect Noida back to Lucknow later in the day.

The start of commercial operations comes after the airport’s inauguration earlier this year. The new facility is expected to reduce travel dependence on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport for passengers from Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna Expressway region and nearby districts.

Jewar Airport First Flight From Lucknow

The first flight from Lucknow is being seen as a symbolic beginning for Uttar Pradesh’s expanding aviation network. The route connects the state capital with one of the fastest-growing industrial and business regions in the National Capital Region.

For passengers travelling between Noida and Lucknow, the new service offers a faster alternative to road travel or flights routed through Delhi. Officials expect the airport to gradually improve regional connectivity as more routes are added.

Noida International Airport Connectivity

Noida International Airport is being developed as a major greenfield aviation hub in western Uttar Pradesh. Its phased development is expected to support passenger movement, cargo services, logistics growth and investment around the Yamuna Expressway corridor.

As more commercial flights begin, the airport is likely to play a key role in easing pressure on Delhi airport while strengthening connectivity for NCR and neighbouring regions.
