U.S. President Donald Trump publicly praised Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir for endorsing his Gaza peace initiative.

Earlier, Sharif and Munir were invited to the White House. Trump had greeted them by calling both men “very great” leaders in public remarks. Before entering further discussions, Trump noted their presence and praised their roles.

Sharif and Munir did not issue independent statements immediately confirming Trump’s assertion of their full support. Their Pakistan office has acknowledged Sharif’s discussions with U.S. officials on regional peace, but it is not yet clear whether Islamabad endorses the entire 20-point plan. Meanwhile, Pakistan has previously condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza and shown solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
