Telangana Train Derailment: 37 Trains Cancelled, Several Diverted
A goods train derailment in Telangana’s Peddapalli district has disrupted train services, leading to the cancellation of 37 passenger trains and impacting over 10 others.
The South Central Railway (SCR) confirmed that the derailment occurred late Tuesday night when 11 wagons of a train carrying iron ore went off track between Raghavapuram and Ramagundam. Restoration efforts are ongoing, and affected routes are expected to face delays and diversions throughout the day.
Train Cancellations and Diversions Announced by SCR
South Central Railway’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) reported that 37 passenger trains have been cancelled, with others facing partial cancellation, rescheduling, or diversion. According to an SCR press release, six trains departing from Akola and Akot have been fully cancelled for Wednesday. Meanwhile, three trains starting from Daund, Nizamabad, and Sirpur Kaghaznagar will only cover partial routes today.
In addition, 10 long-distance trains from cities like Delhi, Gorakhpur, Ahmedabad, and Danapur have been diverted due to the incident. Indian Railways has advised passengers to check updated schedules and timings before starting their journeys. Trains such as the MGR Chennai to Ahmedabad route have been rescheduled, and another train from Yeswantpur to Mirzapur is also on a revised schedule for today.
