New Zealand Cricket has announced that wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Latham will take over as the Test captain, replacing Tim Southee, who has decided to step down from the leadership role. Southee, who assumed captaincy in 2022 after Kane Williamson relinquished the role, led New Zealand to six victories and two draws in 14 Test matches.
