Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to secure and fence approximately 550 acres of government land in Miyapur, Hyderabad, following a Supreme Court judgment upholding the state's ownership. Speaking in New Delhi on October 30, 2026, Reddy described the verdict as a major victory in a long-running land dispute involving property estimated by his government to be worth nearly Rs 50,000 crore. Supreme Court Upholds Telangana's Miyapur Land Ownership The Supreme Court dismissed appeals filed by private claimants over land in Survey Numbers 100 and 101 of Serilingampally mandal, bringing a decades-long ownership dispute to a close. The court found that disputed revenue entries could not establish valid private ownership and upheld earlier judicial findings recognising the state's title. Following the judgment, Reddy instructed revenue authorities and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority officials to survey the property, identify encroachments and secure the remaining land. Officials reported that approximately 400 acres had already been fenced, while the status of the remaining area required further examination. Revanth Reddy Accuses KCR of Miyapur Land Grab Attempt Reddy alleged that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, his relative Divakonda Damodar Rao and businessman Goldstone Prasad had attempted to acquire valuable public land through irregular transactions. He further alleged that luxury vehicles and financial benefits were used to influence individuals involved in the disputed property transactions. These accusations remain political allegations and should be distinguished from the Supreme Court's findings concerning ownership and fraudulent revenue entries. The Chief Minister also claimed that his administration had protected government properties valued at approximately Rs 1.5 lakh crore since December 2023. Telangana Considers Using Miyapur Land for Development Reddy said the government was considering monetising some recovered properties to finance irrigation, education and healthcare projects. The proposal will be examined by the state Cabinet and its resource mobilisation subcommittee before a final decision is taken. Revenue officials have indicated that existing residential colonies will be addressed separately, taking account of their legal status and government directions.
