RSS religious pluralism – Bharat Pulse News

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that any Hindu who believes Muslims should have no place in India cannot truly be considered Hindu, using an address in New York to emphasise religious coexistence, human dignity and the idea of unity amid diversity. Mohan Bhagwat Says Muslims Are Part of India Speaking at the “One World One Humanity” event in New York, Bhagwat said Hindu thought recognises different religious paths while maintaining that humanity is fundamentally one. He argued that believing Muslims should be excluded from India was incompatible with Hindu philosophy. Bhagwat said every human being possesses equal dignity and that differences in religious practice should not become a basis for division. His remarks come amid continuing political debate over the RSS’s understanding of Hindu identity and India’s religious diversity. RSS Chief Stresses Unity Without Uniformity Bhagwat said diversity should be protected because it is a natural feature of human society, while describing unity as a universal principle. He maintained that different religions may have distinct rituals and approaches to spirituality but can ultimately coexist without requiring people to abandon their identities. Bhagwat said Hindu traditions recognise multiple paths towards truth rather than insisting on a single religious route. Mohan Bhagwat’s US Visit Draws Attention The RSS chief’s visit to the United States forms part of the organisation’s centenary-year international outreach. His engagements in New York have attracted both supporters and critics, with some advocacy organisations opposing his appearances while others have presented the programme as an effort to promote dialogue and cultural engagement. Bhagwat’s comments on Muslims and Hindu identity are likely to attract particular attention given longstanding political debates over the RSS, Hindutva and religious pluralism in India.
