The National Medical Commission has asked medical colleges and institutions across India not to grant leave to students during the NEET-UG re-examination period, except in exceptional circumstances. The advisory has been issued ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam scheduled for June 21. The National Medical Commission said colleges must remain alert and follow all instructions issued by the authorities for the smooth conduct of the re-examination. Institutions have also been told to maintain proper records and ensure compliance during the re-exam period. The move comes as part of wider precautionary measures being implemented ahead of the national-level entrance test.
