Rubio Acknowledges India's Dependence on Russian Oil Speaking to reporters on Saturday before departing for Uzbekistan and India, Rubio acknowledged New Delhi's efforts to diversify its energy supplies while continuing substantial imports from Russia. He said India had voluntarily broadened its energy portfolio but could not rapidly replace Russian supplies because changing established energy arrangements requires time. Rubio also described India as an important American ally and partner, reaffirming the significance of bilateral relations amid ongoing trade disagreements.
