G7 Leaders Discuss Middle East Stability G7 leaders welcomed diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions but also called for stronger guarantees on regional security. The discussions also focused on Lebanon, Hezbollah, maritime safety and the reopening of critical shipping routes, including the Strait of Hormuz. Trump’s remarks underline the fragile nature of the proposed deal. While markets responded positively to the possibility of de-escalation, the warning of renewed military action showed that the US-Iran framework remains highly uncertain.
