Eden Gardens renovation – Bharat Pulse News

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) might be forced to shift their home games to a new venue for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season due to a major renovation planned at their traditional ground, Eden Gardens. The historic stadium in Kolkata, known for its electrifying atmosphere and immense fan following, will undergo extensive refurbishment, potentially sidelining it from hosting matches during the upcoming season. Tripura Stadium in Narsingarh Considered as Alternative With Eden Gardens temporarily unavailable, KKR management is evaluating options for a new temporary home ground. The franchise has expressed interest in an international-standard cricket stadium currently under construction in Narsingarh, Tripura. Located approximately 20 kilometers from the state capital, Agartala, the new venue is being developed to host high-profile matches and could provide KKR with a promising alternative for their home fixtures. Eden Gardens: Iconic Venue Faces a Temporary Pause The planned renovations at Eden Gardens are part of an effort to upgrade the infrastructure to international standards, likely affecting several of KKR’s home games. Known as one of India’s most iconic cricket venues, Eden Gardens has been home to KKR since the inception of the IPL, offering local fans the chance to cheer for their team at close quarters. The move, if confirmed, will mark a significant change for KKR fans who associate the team with the legacy of Eden Gardens. Preparing for a Smooth Transition KKR’s interest in the Narsingarh stadium highlights the franchise's focus on ensuring that fans continue to enjoy the home game experience, albeit in a new location. The stadium’s construction, expected to be completed in time for the 2025 season, promises facilities equipped to handle the demands of hosting high-profile IPL matches. With Eden Gardens out of commission temporarily, the Narsingarh venue may offer a seamless transition, allowing fans to enjoy the IPL season without significant disruption. With the IPL franchise preparing for a potentially new home base, both KKR and its fan base are gearing up for a season of change that could bring cricketing action to Tripura, showcasing the reach and adaptability of the IPL.
