The incident is alleged to have taken place on Sunday night, following the conclusion of the opening Test. Joe Root Named Interim England Captain Senior batter Joe Root has been named interim captain for the second Test in Stokes’ absence. The match will be played at The Oval from June 17 to June 21. Root, one of England’s most experienced players, will lead the side while the investigation continues. The ECB has not confirmed whether Stokes’ absence will extend beyond the second Test. England Add Jofra Archer And Jordan Cox England have added Sussex fast bowler Jofra Archer and Essex batter Jordan Cox to the squad.
