Ajinkya Rahane has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, bringing an end to a career spanning nearly two decades. The former India captain represented the country across formats and remained an important figure in Mumbai cricket and the Indian Premier League. His century at Lord’s in 2014 was among the defining innings of his international career. After taking charge following the Adelaide defeat, he scored a century in Melbourne and led an injury-hit Indian team to a 2-1 series victory. India remained unbeaten in all six Tests captained by Rahane, registering four victories and two draws.
