Acting on the intelligence input, multiple teams were dispatched to comb through villages like Govel, Nendur, and Thulthuli, situated under Orcha and Barsur police stations. The operation began early, and contact was established at approximately 12:30 PM today when the forces came under heavy fire near the dense forests of Nendur-Thulthuli.

Following the fierce exchange of gunfire, several assault rifles, including AK-series weapons, were recovered from the site. Sources indicate that the firefight is still ongoing as security personnel cautiously pursue a few Maoist combatants who have retreated deeper into the forest.
“This encounter is one of the most significant achievements for the forces in recent times and demonstrates their resolve to combat the Maoist threat in the region,” a senior official noted. The operation’s success is expected to bolster the morale of the security personnel and serve as a major setback to the Maoist insurgency, which has been an ongoing challenge in the region for years.
The encounter has been hailed as a decisive victory for the security forces in their ongoing efforts to dismantle Maoist strongholds in Chhattisgarh, reinforcing the state’s commitment to eradicating insurgency and ensuring peace and stability in the region.
